CM Punk starts on WWE Backstage tonight, sparks Orton/Khan Twitter feud with one tweet

It’s a big day for the WWE Backstage show on FS1 as tonight marks the official start of former champion CM Punk as an analyst on the show.

Punk made a very surprise appearance last week towards the final segment of the show and told fans that he’s here to “change the culture.”

Punk promoted Backstage tonight by writing, “It IS weird trying to catch up on 5+ years of rasslin’, I’m doing what I can. There’s bright spots, mostly women from what I can tell. There’s BAD too. I’m gonna talk about it, and no one is safe. Join us,” he said, tagging also Vince McMahon and AEW President in the tweet.

Tony Khan immediately responded to Punk’s tweet, writing, “No one is safe? Sounds like a plane full of wrestlers in Saudi Arabia!” WWE Superstar Randy Orton was also quick to respond to Khan, apparently not seeing the humor in the tweet. “What’s that whole thing about glass houses and stones?” replied Orton, attaching an article from a few years ago about Shahid Khan being investigated for corruption.

The back and forth did not stop there as Khan shot back saying that he thought Orton only tagged him in posts when he was grasping for leverage. “That article’s over a year old + is about baseless claims made about my dad years ago. That’s the best you can do, nothing. Meanwhile in the time since that was written, you used the N word on Twitch,” Khan fired back.

Orton then decided to take another dig at Khan, calling him the “Jacksonville Dixie,” saying that if he wanted to talk, he’d simply call his father!

WWE Backstage airs tonight at 11PM ET on FS1.
