CM Punk undergoes emergency knee surgery

WWE.COM is reporting that CM Punk underwent emergency knee surgery today in Pensacola, Florida, at The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine under the care of Dr. James Andrews.

The story says that Punk took a flight to Florida right after Monday Night RAW went off the air for consultations with Dr. Andrews and it was determined that he has to do surgery immediately.

There was no timetable given as to how long this surgery will keep Punk on the shelf for and if it will effect the main event for the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view in 12 days time.

Punk is also scheduled to face The Rock at the Royal Rumble next year. He has been the current WWE champion for 380+ days.
