Cruiserweight title match announced for SummerSlam 2018

The WWE Cruiserweight title has not been defended on a WWE pay-per-view since the Greatest Royal Rumble but that will change at SummerSlam when champion Cedric Alexander faces Drew Gulak.

The match was announced by 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick backstage at the American Airlines Arena in Miami yesterday.

Gulak became the number one contender for the Cruiserweight title after he defeated TJP, Hideo Itami, and Mustafa Ali last week on 205 Live. Alexander has been the champion since WrestleMania 34.

The Cruiserweight title match brings the total number of matches on the card to eight so far. Two matches will be bumped to the Kickoff show and the Cruiserweights were “relegated” to the Kickoff show at WrestleMania.
