During yesterday afternoon’s meeting with all WWE employees, it was hammered that the day-to-day operations at the company will remain the same according to a report by PWInsider.com.
That means, at least for the time being, Stephanie McMahon, Paul Levesque, and Nick Khan will all maintain their current roles and Vince will not be showing up at WWE television tapings or work from the WWE Headquarters in Stamford.
It was said that McMahon’s role will be of leading the negotiations for the next round of television rights and a potential sale. Regarding the sale, it was said that they might sell before TV rights are up and they might not, but there’s also the possibility of taking the company private again.
WWE co-CEO Nick Khan name dropped NBCUniversal, owned by Comcast, Disney, and Netflix as three companies who are potentially in the running to outright buy WWE.
The current management team tried to spin the move of Vince leading the negotiations as a positive move during the call but did not take any employee questions. None of the talent were involved in the meeting and it was only office employees.
