Dean Ambrose returns on Monday Night Raw

He’s baaaaack! Former WWE champion Dean Ambrose made his return on WWE television last night on Raw after an eight-month absence.

Ambrose came out to help his Shield tag team partner Seth Rollins in his fight against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre and ended the night by hitting the Dirty Deeds DDT on McIntyre. Ambrose will be in Rollins’ corner at SummerSlam for his Intercontinental title match against Dolph Ziggler.

Ambrose, who is married to Renee Young, underwent triceps surgery in Birmingham, Alabama in December of last year after he tore around 50% of the triceps tendon away from the bone. He was supposed to be out for nine months but came back a month earlier.

His injury put The Shield reunion on the shelf after the reboot of the group had its share of roadblocks with illnesses and injuries. Seth Rollins recently described Ambrose’s injury as a “blessing in disguise” for his singles career.
