Drew McIntyre addresses his COVID-19 diagnosis, urges fans to wear masks

Appearing on Monday Night Raw in a self-recorded video while self isolating after a positive coronavirus test, WWE champion Drew McIntyre urged fans not to take COVID lightly and to always wear their masks.

“Don’t think you can’t catch it, because you can. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anybody. And the only way we’re going to be able to stop this thing is by working together,” the Scot said. “So please, wear your mask, follow social distancing guidelines. It’s not just to protect you, it’s to protect everyone and their loved ones. I’ll see you all really, really soon. But until then, stay safe.”

Appearing again later in the show, McIntyre also accepted Goldberg’s challenge for the Royal Rumble, telling his now challenger that he knows nothing about being a WWE champion because it’s the only title that has eluded him his entire career.

McIntyre said he respected and admired Goldberg but was disappointed when last week Goldberg accused him of disrespecting the WWE Legends and while initially he did not want to wrestle Goldberg, that changed once the former Universal champion pushed him down at the end of the broadcast.
