Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show yesterday, Drew McIntyre said that he was never going anywhere and his contract negotiations took long because he is in a place where he had to get things right for his family.
“I got with Nick Khan, I got with Triple H, they were so understanding and we got things right for the future,” he said. “Drew McIntyre was never going to go away from WWE and it was awesome that The Rock made that announcement, it’s the first time he’s done that for anyone on our roster.”
McIntyre’s deal with WWE was just about to expire before he signed and the news of his renewal came via a post from The Final Boss, who surprised McIntyre with a Scottish Claymore as a gift while he was out on dinner with his family.
In a post on X a few days ago, McIntyre posted a photo shaking hands with Triple H, writing that he trusted him in 2017 when he returned and he’s trusting him now to lead the evolution.
