Ethan Page crowned new NXT champion at Heatwave

Just 40 days after making his NXT debut, Ethan Page reached the top of NXT after he became the new NXT champion last night at Heatwave in Toronto.

The former AEW star defeated champion Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Shawn Spears in a fatal four-way in the main event of the show to win the title. The ending of the match came after Williams took down Page with his Trick Shot finisher but he fell on Evans, who was out cold after he got the Trick Shot in his face just seconds earlier. The referee counted to three as Spears prevented Williams from breaking the pin.

The ending got a big pop from the Toronto crowd with Page being Canadian as well.

The win ends Williams’ reign as NXT champion after 75 days. He won it in April at the NXT: Spring Breakin’ episode on USA Network.
