Finn Balor wins NXT title in Tokyo at The Beast In The East WWE Network special

The live WWE event in Tokyo, Japan, crowned a new NXT champion as Finn Balor defeated the champion Kevin Owens clean via the Coup de Grace to get his first title under the WWE banner.

The man formerly known as Prince Devitt, came out in full demon make up and lots of streamers were deployed to the ring in celebration for his return as soon as the ring announcer introduced him. After the match, WWE Hall of Famer Tatsumi Fujinami entered the ring and raised Balor’s hand in victory. Fellow NXT talent Hideo Itami was at ringside for the match.

Balor, who spent eight years in Japan prior to joining WWE’s NXT, was making his first return to the country since last year. He became the number one contender for the NXT title when he defeated Tyler Breeze at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable this past May.
