FOX to air Smackdown Greatest Hits special episode on September 27

PWInsider.com is reporting that FOX will be airing a one-hour special broadcast titled Smackdown’s Greatest Hits on Friday, September 27 at 8PM ET, one week before Smackdown officially moves to its new network.

The show will chronicle Smackdown’s best moments from the past two decades and it will be WWE’s first broadcast on the network. FOX has never aired a wrestling broadcast before and with FOX Sports taking over production for Smackdown, the expectations are very high for Smackdown’s future.

Apart from several commercials airing already, the network will keep plugging the move during NFL and other sports broadcasts. The first show on October 4 will be a 20th year anniversary episode with several legends and Hall of Famers expected to appear. The show will be live from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
