Glenn “Kane” Jacobs donates Royal Rumble money

Knoxville’s CBS affiliate WVLT-8 is reporting that Glenn “Kane” Jacobs is donating the money he received from WWE for his Royal Rumble appearance to the Knox County Mayor’s Applied Technology Scholarship Fund for TCAT Knoxville.

Kane came in at #18 on Sunday and lasted only just under two minutes in the Rumble, getting eliminated by Damien Priest. He still managed to eliminate two WWE Superstars – Dolph Ziggler and Ricochet – in the short time he was in the ring.

WVLT-8 also adds that Jacobs received a COVID-19 rapid test before leaving, upon arriving at the event and before returning to work after the trip. Inside the ThunderDome, he was wearing a mask until it was time to perform.

Jacobs has the most Royal Rumble appearances from any WWE Superstar in history, having participated in 20 of them so far, with the first one dating back to 1996 when he was using a different gimmick. He also has the record of the most eliminations with 46.

Ever since he was elected Mayor of Knoxville, Jacobs kept his WWE appearances to a minimum but has always answered when he was asked to participate. His last appearance came at the Survivor Series for the Undertaker’s farewell.
