Independent star Lio Rush signs WWE deal

WWE today announced that Lio Rush, the 22-year-old Maryland native, signed a WWE deal and he has already started training at the WWE Performance Center. WWE.COM described it as a “blockbuster signing.”

Rush made his wrestling debut in November 2014, learning the ropes at the MCW Training Center along with former Tough Enough contestant Patrick Clark. The two also held the MCW Tag Team titles for a short period of time. Clark is now at the WWE PC and NXT wrestling under the name of The Velveteen Dream.

Lio Rush wrestled for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Combat Zone Wrestling, and lately Ring of Honor before signing with WWE.
