Jack Swagger has been finally released from his WWE deal, 13 days after requesting to be let go from his contract.
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Jack Swagger. WWE wishes Swagger the best in all his future endeavors,” WWE said in a short statement posted on WWE.COM.
Swagger went on the Chael Sonnen Beyond The Fight podcast to announce that he had asked for his release. The former World champion explained that he was not given the opportunity to make decent income for his family and when it goes down to that, “it’s time to go.”
Swagger had already booked himself for a show in the United Kingdom on March 10, but WWE said at the time that he had not been released yet and cannot wrestle anywhere for 90 days following his official termination date. He was set to take on TNA’s Alberto El Patron in Norwich, England.
