Jerry “The King” Lawler hospitalized

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler is currently hospitalized in Memphis at the Methodist North Hospital and is being treated for diverticulitis.

Lawler’s girlfriend, Lauryn McBride, posted some photos of her and Lawler sporting new year hats and acting goofy. “He’s up and awake for the time being, so we decided to put our cute hats on and take some NYE pics of our awesome hospital NYE party,” she wrote.

Diverticulitis is small, bulging sacs or pouches of the inner lining of the intestine that become inflamed or infected. It’s the same condition that Brock Lesnar was suffering from when he was in the UFC and the reason why he preferred to hang up his MMA gloves at that time.

Lawler is expected to be released from hospital this weekend.
