Joe Hennig and Ariya Daivari get producers tryout at Smackdown

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling is reporting through his Select service that Joe Hennig and Ariya Daivari had a tryout as producers backstage at Smackdown last night.

Hennig, better known as Curtis Axel and the son of Mr Perfect, and Daivari, were both released from WWE over the past few years and while Hennig didn’t wrestle since his 2020 release, Daivari did some indies as well as AEW and NJPW.

Sapp added that Hennig helped produced the Banks vs Morgan match with Tyson Kidd while Daivari helped produce McIntyre vs Zayn with Abyss.

Several former WWE stars are now working as producers backstage and all have been brought back since the return of live events.
