John Cena filming American Grit in Georgia, to return on December 26

Former WWE champion John Cena is currently in Hinesville, Georgia filming the second season of the FOX reality series American Grit.

The filming will take Cena out of WWE action for all of November and almost all of December as well and his first WWE appearance is set for the December 26 non-televised live WWE event at Madison Square Garden.

Cena was last seen on WWE television at No Mercy where he lost in the triple threat match against Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles. A rematch from No Mercy is expected to headline the MSG live event.

American Grit premiered on FOX on April 14, 2016 but failed to get any decent viewership and many thought the show would get axed since FOX always finished last in the ratings when the program was on. The first season of American Grit was filmed last year during this time as well.
