John Cena hosting the ESPYS tonight on ABC

John Cena will be making history tonight as the first ever wrestling personality to host the ESPYS, ESPN’s Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards.

The award show is designed to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing the top achievements, moments and performers. It honors ESPN’s commitment to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

The live broadcast will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will air on ABC at 8PM EST with a countdown show starting at 5PM EST on ESPN. Vice President Joe Biden will also be on the show, presenting the Jimmy V Award.

Two days ago Triple H called Cena hosting the ESPYS as “a huge step for the man and a giant step for our industry.” The fact that Cena was chosen to present the prestigious awards show tells you how much star power he carries.
