John Cena returning on June 27 episode of Monday Night Raw

WWE announced that John Cena will be making his return on the June 27 Monday Night Raw live from Laredo, Texas.

His appearance will cap off the #CenaMonth 20-year celebration, marking 20 years of John Cena in WWE. It will be exactly 20 years to the day as Cena made his debut on a Smackdown on June 27, 2002, responding to the Kurt Angle open challenge.

“Been far too long and what a special occasion to be able spend with the @WWEUniverse,” Cena tweeted after the announcement by WWE was done.

Cena last appeared on WWE television at SummerSlam in August of last year, losing to Roman Reigns in the main event. He did show up at Madison Square Garden a few weeks later in September but only for the fans inside the arena and teamed up with Rey and Dominik Mysterio to take on Roman Reigns and The Usos in the dark match.
