John Cena says there is “no logistical way” to be at WrestleMania 37

John Cena is being rumored for WrestleMania 37 and with Triple H not shooting down the idea either, Cena spoke to Sports Illustrated to put some cold water on the idea, saying as things stand at the moment, it would be impossible for him to be in Tampa Bay for the show.

The former 16-time champion is currently in Vancouver filming the HBO Max series Peacemaker. The character will be introduced in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie later this year but Cena already got his show on the streaming service giant.

“Given the quarantine regulations, if I were to leave Canada, upon return I would have to quarantine for another two weeks. Essentially, that would shut production down. Strictly based on the letter of the law right now, there is no logistical way I can be there. We film now until July,” Cena told SI.

In a different year, this would have been totally doable, something that Ronda Rousey did when she was jetted in from South America to make her Rumble debut a few years ago and then left immediately after to resume her filming duties. But coronavirus is making life a little bit more difficult to pull these stunts off at the moment.

Cena also joked that he has now become something that he despised years ago – a mere part timer with WWE. “What a hypocritical situation,” Cena said. “I used to be very open about the fact that part-timers were just that, and here I am at 44 years old and I’ve become what I despise, as they say. That is kind of what it is.”
