John Cena vs Brock Lesnar set for the Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble main event was set at last night’s TLC pay-per-view as John Cena successfully defeated Seth Rollins in a table match with help from Roman Reigns to keep his number one contender spot.

With Cena the winner, he now moves on to face Brock Lesnar for the third time in five months and thanks to Lesnar’s very limited contract, WWE has opted to throw away the ’30 day rule’ to defend the title and it will be a total of 127 days since the last time the WWE was defended on a WWE show.

Lesnar and Paul Heyman are expected to return on tonight’s Raw to start the program with Cena.
