History was made last night at NXT Battleground as Kelani Jordan became the inaugural NXT Women’s North American title, winning a ladder match which also involved Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, Michin, Fallon Henley, and Lash Legend.
The 25-year-old has been signed to WWE for just a year and is an accomplished former collegiate gymnast who competed for Michigan State University.
She made her NXT debut last June at NXT: Gold Rush as a protégé of Dana Brooke.
“First-ever. History made at #NXTBattleground… and we’re just getting started,” wrote NXT’s Shawn Michaels as he posed with the new champ backstage. “Congratulations to @kelani_wwe. You EARNED this moment.”
