Kurt Angle on tonight’s ESPN SportsCenter to discuss HOF induction

Kurt Angle will be joining The Coach on tonight’s Off The Top Rope segment on ESPN SportsCenter to talk about headlining the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

This will be Angle’s first WWE-related interview since 2006. He is under contract until Hall of Fame night comes around and with the Royal Rumble around the corner, there are always rumors that he might be one of the surprise entrants in the 30-man over-the-top rope match.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated in a separate interview, the Olympic gold medalist said that he was with his wife and three kids when he found out. “My younger kids don’t know about my career, but they looked at the screen and said, ‘Daddy’s on television!’ And then my younger daughter started calling me ‘Kurt Angle,’ and I said, ‘No! I’m Dad, not Kurt Angle,’” he said.

Angle said he did not speak to Vince McMahon yet and the only person he talked to was Triple H. He did reveal that they did not want to talk about anything apart from the Hall of Fame, so an in-ring return at this point is not on the cards.
