Kushida officially joins WWE

WWE has announced the signing of Kushida, one of the most popular Japanese wrestlers.

The 35-year-old from Tokyo spent nine years wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling, wrestling his final match for the promotion on January 29 at the Road to the New Beginning. He won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title six times, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles twice, and the Super J-Cup during his stint there.

Prior to NJPW he also wrestled for AJPW and competed in Canada, Mexico, and United States.

Kushida will start with the NXT brand immediately and might even be presented to the world at NXT Takeover: New York tonight.
