Madison Square Garden possible location for SummerSlam 2021

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Madison Square Garden is being considered as a potential host of the 2021 SummerSlam pay-per-view.

WWE President Nick Khan said last month that the next WWE event in front of fans will not be a one-off like WrestleMania and will see WWE resuming touring on the road for their television broadcasts. AEW already pulled the trigger and is starting on the road on July 7.

PWInsider.com added to the story that SummerSlam this year is set for Sunday, August 22. Last year’s SummerSlam was the first PPV – and the second show – at the ThunderDome and saw the return of Roman Reigns.

Madison Square Garden has hosted three SummerSlam shows in the past, the first one in 1988, the one in 1991, and the 1998 event.
