Former WWE Women’s and Divas champion Mickie James underwent ACL surgery today and the operation was a success according to her husband and fellow professional wrestler Nick Aldis. The surgery was done at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama under the care of Dr. Jeff Dugas.
“Surgery was a complete success. I’m sure when she’s feeling up to it she’ll share more. Thank you all,” Aldis wrote in a tweet.
James has been out of action for a month and a half after tearing her ACL during a non-televised live event in a match against Carmella. While she has been wrestling during house shows, James has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 and her participation in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal. She was drafted to Smackdown during the Superstar Shake-up in April.
James is expected to be out of action for six to nine months.
