Monday Night Raw TV report for 08/14/2023

Arena: Canada Life Centre
City: Winnipeg, MB

The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley are out to the ring first. Damian says tonight Finn Balor is going to handle Cody Rhodes and Finn should be here. Rhea told him not now and Damian said clearly there is an issue in the Judgment Day. JD McDonagh comes out and doesn’t want to disrespect anyone. JD said he has a message from Finn and told them to focus on Cody and Sami Zayn and Rhea said we take orders from no one. Dominik tells JD they got this on lock, and he can go in the back and tell Finn we need to talk.

Sami Zayn comes out and heads straight to JD and they begin to fight. JD tried to crawl in the ring and held his hand out to Priest for help, but they just stood there and watched. As Zayn was distracted, JD grabbed his arm and rammed it into the steel ring post.

JD McDonagh VS. Sami Zayn

Finn Balor comes out and distracts Zayn, but as JD goes for an incredible moonsault, gets hit with Sami’s foot and Sami hits his Helluva Kick and gets the win.

Winner: Sami Zayn

In the back, Adam Pearce is talking with Chelsea Green and she does not want to give up the tag team championships. Chelsea wanted to have auditions for a new partner and Katana Chance and Kiana James come in and challenges Green for when she finds a partner. Piper Niven comes in and blasts both James and Chance and tells Green she is her new partner and Green told her to give her an email address and she can audition. Niven grabs one of the titles off of Green and says you don’t understand I am your new partner.

Byron Saxton interviews Cody Rhodes and Cody says he is ready for Finn Balor, and he will be ready for the Judgment Day.

Imperium is out to the ring next, and a video package is shown of the group. Gunther says he was impressed with Chad Gable last week, but he has achieved more in a year, then Gable has in a year. This leads to Gable coming out and Shushing Gunther. Gable comes to the ring with Otis and Maxine.

Words are exchanged and Kaiser gets involved and tries to convince Maxine to come with Imperium.

Giovanni Vinci VS. Chad Gable

Gable hits his chaos theory and gets the win.

Winner: Chad Gable

Gunther then challenged Otis to a match for right now.

Gunther VS. Otis

Gunther was able to give Otis the powerbomb to get the win.

Winner: Gunther

Gable rushes Gunther at the end of the match and gives him a back suplex.

In the back, Priest is asking Finn why he couldn’t be out there with his people. Rhea stopped them from arguing. JD comes in and Priest steps up and says JD needs to get out of the Judgment Day business and Finn stepped in between them and told JD he would talk to him later.

Next the Bloodline video from the past Friday Smackdown is shown.

Drew McIntyre is interviewed backstage and was asked what’s next for Drew McIntyre and before he could answer, Matt Riddle comes in and has an idea to start a new tag team and asked Drew to be his partner. Drew tells Riddle he will consider the match tonight.

The Viking Raiders VS. Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre

Drew catches Erik with the Claymore to pick up the win.

Winner: Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre

Indie Hartwell is getting ready to face Rhea Ripley with Candice LeRae as Raquel Rodriguez walks in and wishes her good luck and says she can’t wait to get her hands on Ripley.

In the back the New Day are talking to Riddle and Drew and they agree to face each other next week.

Rhea Ripley VS. Indie Hartwell

Ripley hits the riptide to score another victory.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

After the match Candice Le$ae attacked Rhea and then Indy joined in and took Ripley down before they left the ring.

Michael Cole interviews Shinsuke Nakamura in the ring and they talk about Seth Rollins on why he attacked Seth last week. Nakamura kept talking in another language and finally Seth Rollins came to the ring. Seth says he isn’t a hard man to find, and he is a fighting champion, and he had a great deal of respect for him and if he wanted a chance at the world championship all he had to do is ask.

Seth says if last week’s ambush was a challenge consider your challenge accepted. Seth tells Nakamura to name the time and the place. Seth tells Nakamura to shake his hand and get out of his ring and let the people sing his song and Nakamura shook his hand and whispered something that had Seth looking bewildered and as Nakamura went to leave, he turned and hit Seth with another Kinshasa Kick.

Byron Saxton interviewed the Miz. And Miz says he may or may not show up on Smackdown and confront LA Knight again.

Trish Stratus VS. Becky Lynch

These two fought to a double count out and continued to fight in the back of the arena out in the concession area and hallways and even the merchandise counter. Zoey Stark gets into the mix to help Trish and Trish give Becky a chick kick.

Winner: Double countout

Imperium is talking and Gunther says they have been an embarrassment, Kaiser said he will go to Adam Pearce and make it all right. Gunther said you are not going to Pearce because I am and I will fix this myself, like I always do and if Gable wants my title, he will need to take it from me next week.

In the back Adam Pearce is yelling at Trish and says they are doing this again and the next time it will be in a steel cage.

The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes VS. Finn Balor

Dominik slides in a chair but the referee catches it and is arguing with Dominik and Rhea as Priest has his briefcase and throws it in the ring, but Cody gets it and hits Balor and then hits Priest, throws the Briefcase out of the ring and hits Cross Rhodes on Balor and gets the win.

Winner:  The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes

After the match Dominik attacked Cody then the rest of the Judgment Day joined in, and Sami Zayn comes out with a chair for the save and until JD McDonagh comes out and hits Zayn with a chair and the attack on Rhodes and Zayn continued with Balor hitting at least 2 coupe de graces on Rhodes and Priest giving Zayn a razor’s edge through the announce table.
