Monday Night Raw TV report for 08/21/2023

Arena: Centre Videotron
City: Quebec, QC

Sami Zayn is out to the ring first. He is quickly interrupted by the Judgment Day. The Judgment Day surrounds the ring. Sami says did you think I would come here of all places alone? Kevin Owens storms to the ring and the Tag Team champions quickly rid the ring of the Judgment Day.

Owens takes the microphone and says it’s been far too long since he had a match on Raw and he wants it to be Sami and Kevin Owens vs. any two members of the Judgment Day.

Matt Riddle & Drew McIntyre VS. The New Day

Erik of the Viking Raiders takes out Drew McIntyre, Kofi hits Riddle with the Trouble in Paradise and gets the win.

Winners: The New Day

After the match, The Viking Raiders attack the New Day, McIntyre gets back in the ring and runs off the Raiders.

Jackie Redmond interviews JD McDonagh with Finn Balor. Jackie asked JD if his friendship is interfering with Finn’s Judgment Day and JD says he hopes not, and they have been friends forever and he hoped his friendship would make the Judgment Day stronger. Rhea comes in and says they need to decide who is facing Sami and Kevin tonight and as JD starts to walk with Finn, Rhea stops him and says this is Judgment Day business and Finn says he will talk to him later.

Gunther talks about his match with Chad Gable tonight.

Chad Gable is interviewed by Byron Saxton. Otis answers says he is going to do it and Maxxine says she credits Gable with her in ring career. Gable says there is only one thing to say, “Thank YOU.”

Gunther VS. Chad Gable for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

The actions spills outside when Gable goes for a moonsault, but Gunther pushes him off the top rope causing Gable to fall onto the barricade. Gunther goes on the attack outside and goes for a chop as Gable is against the ring post, but Gable moves, and Gunther chops the post hard then Gable shoves Gunther into the post and then back suplexes Gunther into the timekeeper’s area and Gable slides into the ring as the referee continued the 10 count.

Winner by Count Out: Chad Gable but still WWE Intercontinental Champion: Gunther

Judgment Day is shown talking about the tag match.

In the back Gunther is yelling at Kaiser and Vinci.

Byron Saxton then interviews Cody Rhodes. Cody takes Byron for a walk. They enter the arena, he says he can’t wait to watch the main event and see the Judgment Day rise and fall.

A video package is shown about Shinsuke Nakamura, and he said he told Seth last week “He knows about his back.”

Candace LeRae VS. Rhea Ripley

Rhea locked Candace’s legs and picked her up off the ground and Candace had to tap out.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

After the match, as Dominik and Rhea were celebrating in the aisle, Raquel Rodriguez comes out on a crutch but as Rhea faces her, Raquel hits her with the crutch and then sends Rhea into the ring. Raquel hit Rhea with a fallaway slam which led to Ripley rolling out of the ring. Raquel said she is now cleared to return to the ring and it’s going to be Rhea Ripley VS. Raquel Rodriguez at Payback.

The Miz VS. Akira Tozawa

Tozawa was able to roll the Miz up for the win.

Winner: Akira Tozawa

After the match LA Knight comes out and hits the Miz with a BFT.

In the back, Matt Riddle and Drew McIntyre were talking and Drew said this thing is not going to work out and the New Day come in and tell them to hold on, they have a name for them: the McRiddle.

Becky Lynch comes to the ring. She talks about Trish Stratus which leads to Trish coming out to the stage with Zoey Stark. Trish said she will beat Lynch and prove she is greatest of all time. Trish said she has never fought in a steel cage before but will prove herself to everyone again.

Piper Niven & Chelsea Green VS. Katona Chance and Kayden Carter

Carter and Chance had Green covered but Green had tagged Niven in, and Niven came in and splashed Carter for the win.

Winners: Piper Niven & Chelsea Green

Seth Rollins is interviewed and admitted he has two fractures in his spine and doesn’t know how much longer he will be able to do this. Says if Shinsuke wants to bring his family into this, his wife and his daughter he better be ready to face him like a man.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS. Damian Priest & Finn Balor

JD McDonagh comes out and tosses in the money in the bank briefcase, but Owens caught it and hit Finn and gets disqualified.

Winners by DQ: Damian Priest & Finn Balor.

After the match the Judgment Day attack Owens and Zayn until Cody Rhodes comes out and says they are not ending Monday Night Raw this way there are 3 of them and 3 of you. Adam Pearce comes out to make the match official.

Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Cody Rhodes VS. Damian Priest, Finn Balor & Dominik Mysterio

Rhodes hits the Cross Rhodes which sends Dominik into the corner, so he tags in Sami who tags in Kevin and Sami hits the Helluva Kick and Dominik falls right into the KO Stunner.

Winners: Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Cody Rhodes

After the match Sami gets the microphone and tells the Judgment Day better luck next time and then talks in French to the crowd.
