NBA free agent Dwight Howard, who last season played for the LA Lakers, participated in yesterday’s WWE tryouts in Nashville.
Howard spent five hours at the tryouts according to journalist Arash Markazi, and did the drills and even cut a promo with Triple H, Paul Heyman, and Big E in attendance.
The eight-time NBA All-Star told Markazi that while he still wants to play basketball next season, he would be open to joining WWE if that doesn’t happen. The life-long WWE fan said that his NBA career started in Orlando and would not mind if his wrestling career started there as well at the Performance Center.
Howard also had a one-on-one chat with Triple H at the tryouts, a conversation which was also caught on camera.
His tryout made the news on several mainstream news outlets.
WWE welcomed over 50 athletes from different sports during these tryouts in hopes of signing the next batch of future WWE Superstars.
