Nikki Bella reveals another neck injury as reason why she’s going away

Nikki Bella posted a photo of her ring gear along with a post explaining why we won’t be seeing her for the next several months on Smackdown.

“This isn’t goodbye, just need time to heal. When the day is right I will be back and hopefully then…. BRIE MODE will be ACTIVATED,” Nikki wrote. “Can’t wait for the day I can lace up my kicks, throw on my jersey, put on my SnapBack and come back home. Until then…. Stay Fearless Bella Army!”

Speaking to E!, Nikki said that when she returned, WWE knew that she would not be returning full time. But another injury is forcing her away from the WWE ring after she revealed that a recent MRI and CT scan showed that she has a slight herniation above where she had surgery. “Which isn’t good,” she said, ”Which means I have to take time off and I have to heal. And hopefully when that heals, if it does, I can get back in the ring,”

Nikki is praying that it won’t be a long time but she doesn’t know how things will turn out.

The former Divas champion returned at SummerSlam last year following 10 months on the sidelines due to neck surgery that almost ended her wrestling career. The rumors that she would be leaving WWE after WrestleMania were getting stronger as the show got closer and eventually her departure was tied in the storyline with The Miz and Maryse. Her fiancee John Cena is also leaving for the next several months to film a couple of movies and rumors are he will be back sometime after SummerSlam.
