Number one contenders match for the WWE Universal title next week on Raw

While Roman Reigns announced a few weeks ago that he will take on whoever is the champion at SummerSlam, there is one bump in the road for Reigns as before he gets to main event SummerSlam, he has to go through Samoa Joe.

Joe, who lost to Lesnar on Sunday night at Great Balls of Fire, will get another chance to go for the title. Originally, Joe was not in the picture at all for SummerSlam but his feud with Lesnar was very well received and it wouldn’t be a surprise if this is turned into a three-way match.

Both Reigns and Joe interrupted the Universal champion on Raw and General Manager Kurt Angle then made the match for next week. SummerSlam takes place on August 20 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
