NXT expected to lose some stars in the upcoming WWE Draft

The NXT brand is expected to be part of the upcoming WWE Draft according to Dave Meltzer of the Observer. The Draft will kick off this Friday live on Smackdown on FOX and continues on Monday Night Raw on USA Network.

But this will be a one-way street for the NXT brand as some of its stars will be moving up and no one going the other way. With the focus of NXT now shifting to making new stars from their pool of WWE Performance Center athletes, moving some of the established NXT mainstays will free up some television time to debut these new characters.

Over the past two weeks since NXT 2.0 started, many new faces made their debut, giving the show a new look and some fresh rivalries.

The outcome of some title matches on tonight’s broadcast might also shed light on the future on some of these stars, most notably Raquel Gonzalez and Io Shirai.
