NXT India tapings set for January 2021

The initial NXT India series is set to film in January 2021 if everything goes according to plan and tapings will be held inside the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center as COVID-19 restrictions prevents on-location filming.

An eight-man tournament is rumored to be the first order of business for the launch of NXT India, similar to what WWE did with the NXT UK brand several years ago. The company is hoping to expand NXT India in its own brand with a WWE Performance Center in India as well.

WWE has several performers under a deal from the country and there were reports that Jinder Mahal, the former WWE champion, will be involved with the brand as well.

The NXT India tournament will air on regular television in India and will also air on the WWE Network.
