NXT New Year’s Evil special set for January 4

During last night’s WarGames event, WWE announced that the next NXT themed episode will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 and will be named New Year’s Evil.

This is the second time that NXT is doing New Year’s Evil, with last year’s show being headlined by Finn Balor vs Kyle O’Reilly for the NXT title. New Year’s Evil is the third theme show of the year for NXT, with Great American Bash and Halloween Havoc also held in June and October respectively.

Last year’s show also had a host, similar to what they do with Halloween Havoc. Dexter Lumis, who popped up last night from under the ring to scare Trick Williams away, was the host of the 2021 edition.
