NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver main event announced

The NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver main event was set yesterday during the USA Network broadcast with NXT champion Finn Balor defending his gold against Karrion Kross.

Kross, who won the title last year from Keith Lee, never got to defend it as he had to surrender it a few days later due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. Kross spent nearly four months on the sidelines and returned to action in early January.

Balor has been the champion for the past 190 days after beating Adam Cole for the vacant title. But he was also a bit unlucky himself after he suffered a broken jaw in his first title defense against Kyle O’Reilly and spent two months on the injured list.

The two teamed up to take on the NXT Tag Team champions last night but ended on the wrong end of the pin after Kross turned on Balor and then Lorcan covered the NXT champion for the pin. Kross, with the help of Scarlett, continued to beat up Balor after the match was over, ending the show standing tall over him.
