NXT talent Rick Boogs makes main roster debut

33-year-old Eric Bugenhagen, who last night introduced himself as Rick Boogs on Smackdown, made his main roster debut, playing Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme for his match against King Corbin.

The Wisconsin native was ranked among the top 10 U.S. amateur wrestlers in 2011 when he competed on the Badgers wrestling team. He has been signed to a WWE deal since late 2017 and appeared sporadically on NXT television but participated in many of the non-televised NXT live events around Florida. Last year, under the name Rick Bugez, he appeared at EVOLVE 143 and 144.

At Fastlane this year, Boogs, under the name of Joseph Average, won the WWE 24/7 title during an Old Spice advert. He played the character of an Old Spice sales rep for all the Old Spice/WWE commercials.
