NXT UK announces the signing of Ben Carter

Ben Carter has been officially announced as part of the NXT UK roster. The announcement came yesterday during the NXT UK episode on the WWE Network.

Carter, a young 22-year-old who has impressed on the indie scene, worked a few matches for All Elite Wrestling in September and was a favorite to be scooped up by the promotion. But WWE offered Carter a deal and the British star opted to sign for NXT instead.

Carter was not paid for his AEW matches as he didn’t have the proper visa and opted to work for free instead as long as he got a shot in the ring.”I came to the states 4 and a half years ago as a kid with a dream,” Carter wrote in a tweet after NXT UK officially announced him as part of the roster. “I had no idea how I was gonna do it… but I knew exactly what I wanted. That dream, it just came true. I’m a WWE Superstar.”

The Brit trained at Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Wrestling Academy.
