NXT UK star Candy Floss leaves, thanks WWE for supporting her

NXT UK wrestler Candy Floss announced on social media that she has departed the promotion after her contract expired and it was not renewed.

The 22-year-old Londoner, whose real name is Amy Samrdzija, explained that in May 2019 she lost her mother to cancer and eight months later she was officially signed to NXT UK. But her dream move didn’t pan out as she expected after she was diagnosed with severe PTSD and anxiety because of the trauma she experienced witnessing her mother fight for her life.

She has not wrestled since August 2019 after she decided to put her mental health first. She did not wrestle again for NXT UK after she was signed to a deal.

“In December 2021 my contract with WWE expired. It is very sad for me as I wish my journey with WWE didn’t have to end like this as I’ve worked so hard to get signed. I just want to say thank you to WWE for dealing with me so well as I know it’s not an easy situation, I’m very grateful for it all,” she said.

Samrdzija said that her dream is not over and hopes that she will be back in the ring one day and acknowledged that she had to endure her biggest fight to date, mental health, but is now doing better.
