Original Sin Cara released from WWE

WWE has announced the release of the original Sin Cara, Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde effective on March 26, 2014. We wish Luis the best of luck in his future endeavors,” said a statement on WWE.COM.

The man formerly known as Mistico in Mexico signed with the WWE in beginning of 2011 and on February 24, WWE held a press conference in Mexico City to unveil him as Sin Cara.

His WWE career however was rocked with injuries and Wellness Program violations, forcing the company to place another member of its roster, Hunico, under the mask. He had already worked under the name of Sin Cara Negro, replacing the original Sin Cara when he was sent home for the Wellness violation.

He last wrestled for WWE under the mask in October 2013 at a non-televised live event in Monterrey, Mexico, against Alberto Del Rio.
