Paul Heyman talks Lesnar, Reigns, Rousey, and more in interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani

A brutally honest Paul Heyman had a 30-minute chat with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani to talk a variety of subjects.

Asked why he is no longer the Raw Executive Director, Heyman pulled no punches and said that he serves at the pleasure of the Chairman Vince McMahon and there came a day where he was no longer at the pleasure of Vince McMahon.

“When I took the role as Executive Director, I made an agreement with Vince McMahon…I want this job as long as every morning when Vince McMahon woke up, he said, ‘Thank God, Paul Heyman is looking after the store on Raw,'” Heyman said. “The day that Vince didn’t wake up and didn’t feel that way, I didn’t want the job anymore.”

The former ECW head said that he left “with a smile, handshake, and a hug” and said he harbors no harsh feelings towards Vince McMahon and it actually felt great because it did not end in a miserable way as it did in the past.

Heyman also discussed his pairing with Roman Reigns and how it has been in the works for eight long years, his 18-year friendship with Brock Lesnar, MMA, Daniel Cormier, Ronda Rousey, CM Punk, and much more.
