R-Truth posted a video yesterday saying he was going into surgery to repair his torn quad tendon, an injury he suffered during last week’s episode of NXT in a match against Grayson Waller.
Truth, now 50 years old, suffered the injury when he went for a dive over the top rope and to the outside but didn’t get enough height on his jump, hitting the top rope, missing Waller, hitting his head on the apron, and landing hard on his leg. The match was called off and Waller was declared the winner.
A torn quad will take up to nine months for recovery so it will be a long road for Truth to return to the ring. He thanked everyone for their support and messages over the past week and said he’d be back before we know it.
Thank you to Each and every one of you!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏿 🤔 I might turn this into a documentary 🧐 #whatitis pic.twitter.com/pichgdDqbA
