Referee stops Theory vs Hayes match after both land on their head

The Carmelo Hayes vs Austin Theory match was stopped last night on Smackdown after Theory hit a modified version of the Spanish Fly and both men landed horribly on their head.

Theory got the worst of it, spiking his head on the mat while Hayes landed his head on Theory’s head. The referee immediately checked on both guys looking for hand signals if they’re okay but then called for the bell to end the match.

Thankfully, both Superstars are doing fine after WWE posted a message on X saying, “They both suffered face contusions, and will both be okay.”

Recently another referee stopped another match between Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso vs Imperium after Kingston dropkicked Giovanni Vinci right in the face, knocking him out.
