Reigns and Lashley in number one contender’s match for the Universal title set for next week

Brock Lesnar will be defending the Universal title at SummerSlam against either Bobby Lashley or Roman Reigns, with a number one contender’s match between the two set for next week’s Monday Night Raw.

Last night, the two won their respective triple threat matches to advance, with Reigns defeating Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre, while Lashley defeated Elias and Seth Rollins. The matches came 24 hours after Lashley defeated Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules.

Lashley and Reigns were always supposed to be in the picture and were part of a multi-man match that was scheduled to take place at Extreme Rules before it was canned due to storyline reasons.

Lesnar’s involvement at SummerSlam was made official last night on Raw after Paul Heyman accepted Kurt Angle’s ultimatum.
