Reigns vs Owens announced for the 2023 Royal Rumble

The Undisputed WWE Universal title match at the Royal Rumble was made official last night on Smackdown with Roman Reigns defending his title against Kevin Owens.

The same match, for the Universal title, was also part of the Royal Rumble in 2021, with the two wrestling in a last man standing match. The match is famous for a botch where Reigns couldn’t get out of the handcuffs after he was attached to the lighting trellis and the referee suddenly stopped counting, only for Reigns to then shove the referee into the trellis.

In other Royal Rumble news, Ricochet and Liv Morgan have been added to their respective over-the-top rope match, joining Kofi Kingston who was announced last week.
