Report: Drew McIntyre has not signed a new WWE deal yet

The Daily Mail is reporting that Drew McIntyre has still not signed a new WWE contract despite the big push he has gotten over the past couple of months.

Rumors started circulating this week that McIntyre extended his WWE deal and if you look at his current run, nothing would suggest otherwise. But quoting sources close to the situation, The Daily Mail said that while the two sides have been in talks for close to a year, the Scotsman has still not put pen to paper.

McIntyre’s original contract was supposed to end earlier, but due to his injury, it was extended past WrestleMania. McIntyre is now in one of the main events, receiving a World Heavyweight title shot against Seth Rollins after winning the Elimination Chamber.

The newspaper adds that while talks are still ongoing, they “aren’t close to being finalized” as of now and money is not the issue, but creative is.

McIntyre became the second person to pin Cody Rhodes since his return to WWE and is keeping his feud with an injured CM Punk alive even though Punk is a good eight months away from returning to the ring.
