Rey and Dominik Mysterio make history with tag team titles win

Rey and Dominik Mysterio made history last night at WrestleMania Backlash after they become the first-ever father and son tag team champions.

The duo defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode in the second match of the card. Dominik was attacked by Ziggler and Roode during the Kickoff show so Rey spent most of the match wrestling alone until Dominik came out later on.

A 619 to Roode and a frog splash later by Dominik was enough for the Mysterios to win the Smackdown Tag Team titles. Ziggler and Roode held the titles for 128 days, winning them on the January 8 episode of Smackdown on FOX.

This is Rey’s fifth reign as a tag team champion, having previously won the WWE Tag Team titles with Edge, RVD, Eddie Guerrero, and Batista. It’s the first title for the young Dominik since he started with the WWE.
