Rick Steiner celebrates with his son after NXT title win

Former WWE and WCW Tag Team champion Rick Steiner celebrated his son’s title victory last night after New Year’s Evil went off the air.

Steiner, who has not appeared on WWE television since he and his brother Scott left the company in 1994, embraced Breakker as the NXT crowd gave them a standing ovation. Steiner held up his son’s hands and then did his trademark bark, joined by the fans and Breakker himself.

Tommaso Ciampa said last year that Steiner was supposed to show up at the Halloween Havoc event but then changed his mind with Ciampa joking that he probably had a change of heart when he found out that his son was not winning the title.

The off the air video was published by WWE on social media, and it’s the first time they publicly acknowledged the relationship between the two even though commentators always hinted at that without saying it outright.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson even commented on the Instagram video, saying, “Very f*cking cool.”
