Ricochet paid tribute to The Rock last night at the non-televised live event in Washington, DC., and the People’s Champion was quick to return the favor and put him over.
While wrestling the Velveteen Dream, Ricochet gave him a spine buster and then set him up for the people’s elbow exactly like The Rock used to do as the crowd went “Oooooh!”
As Ricochet ran the ropes and was ready to drop the elbow, he did a spin on his leg and instead hit a standing moonsault to a big ovation from the crowd.
When it was pointed out to The Rock what he did, Johnson was quick to reply and put over Ricochet as a future wrestling champion.
“He’s the man! Love the stuff King is doing and will no doubt be the leader in ushering in a new era of our wrestling business. Future champ,” The Rock wrote on his Twitter.
