Ronda Rousey’s days in WWE are numbered

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the breakup of Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey came because Rousey is on her way out of WWE and they needed to start her last feud with Baszler before she wraps up her dates.

Meltzer states that Rousey has given WWE her last working date so everything had to be accelerated for the feud to work, with SummerSlam likely to be the show where Rousey takes on Baszler in a one-on-one match.

While the idea was to have them on a longer title run, Rousey’s broken hand injury earlier this year screwed up the timeline of everything and now it’s full speed ahead to make this feud work.

Meltzer said that the program with Shayna Baszler is something that Rousey wanted all along and is getting her wish before she leaves WWE.

Rousey returned to the company at last year’s Royal Rumble and was absent for almost three years prior to that, with her last match being the WrestleMania 35 main event with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
