Roxanne Perez beats Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s title

Mandy Rose’s 413-day reign as the NXT Women’s champion came to a halt last night on USA Network as Roxanne Perez dethroned the queen of NXT in the main event of the show.

Originally scheduled for NXT’s New Year’s Evil episode on January 10, Rose vs Perez was moved up for reasons yet to be confirmed and it was the young, 21-year-old who came out victorious after delivering the Pop Rocks finisher on Rose.

Earlier in the broadcast, Rose attacked Perez and after recovering, Perez demanded the title shot, to which Rose agreed to.

Rose, who defeated Raquel Rodriguez for the title at NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver last year, was just three days away from equaling Shayna Baszler record of 416 days as champ. She now sits #3 on the longest reigning chart behind Baszler and Asuka who have combined days of 548 and 522 respectively.

After the broadcast, fans inside the WWE PC chanted “Thank you Mandy” and Rose blew them a kiss and waved. On Twitter, she then wrote, “Thank you.”
