Seth Rollins wins the WWE Universal title from Brock Lesnar

There’s a new Universal champion in town and his name is Seth Rollins!

WrestleMania started with a surprise match as the Universal title was up for grabs in the opening minutes of the show. Paul Heyman stormed the ring after cutting off Hulk Hogan and Alexa Bliss and said that if his client is not on last, then he needs to get this over and done quickly.

Lesnar beat up Rollins pretty bad before the match even started but once the bell officially rang, it took less than three minutes for Rollins to cleanly defeat Lesnar following three Curb Stomps. MetLife Stadium is not a lucky place for Lesnar to wrestle as he also lost his match against Triple H last time around at WrestleMania 29.

Before the match, Heyman said that Lesnar wants to fly to Las Vegas as quickly as possible because there he’s “ultimately” appreciated, obviously referring to the UFC. With such a quick, clean finish, it looks like this Brock Lesnar stint in WWE is over and the Universal title will return on WWE television every week. Lesnar is expected to rejoin the UFC for a fight against either Daniel Cormier or Jon Jones.

Brock won the vacant Universal title at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in November and defended it only one, against Finn Balor at the Royal Rumble. He also wrestled Daniel Bryan at the Survivor Series but that was not for the title.
